Booking & Reservations

What is the minimum booking requirement?

For the 2026 Season

May 1 – June 18 & Sept 8 – Oct 31:
A one-night stay can be booked any day of the week

June 19– September 7:
A one night stay may be booked during weekdays (Sunday – Thursday), a two-night minimum during weekends (Friday – Saturday) and long weekends; we require a three night commitment

Please note: You cannot check-in or check-out on a Saturday during peak season.

Can I book a cottage rental for just a weekend?

Yes. Many Great Blue Resorts locations offer weekend, midweek, and weekly stays depending on availability and season.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is 3:00pm. Keys are to be picked up at the Welcome Centre located on your resort. Please contact our office prior to your arrival by phone at (905) 468-4141 if you will be arriving after 6pm.

Check-out is 11:00am. Keys are to be returned to the Welcome Centre by 11:00am on your departure day. There is a key box outside the Welcome Centre door for returning keys outside of office hours. There will be a charge of $100+HST to replace any lost keys.

Early Check-in and Late Check-out can be requested but is not guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges.

How long of a stay are resort cottages available to rent?

As long as you’d like! There is no maximum length for rental bookings. Guests can stay for one night, one week, two weeks, or longer. It’s completely up to you.

What time of the year are resort cottage rentals available?

Our resorts are open May 1st to October 31st each year. We also have several extended season condos available at Golden Beach Resort in the Kawarthas.

Cottage Rentals & Accommodations

What is included in a Great Blue cottage rental?

Our cottages offer approximately 500 sq. ft. of indoor living space and sleeps up to a family of 6 — 4 adults and 2 children (children under the age of 16). They are fully equipped with a kitchen (full size fridge & stove, microwave, coffee maker and toaster), bathroom, 2 – 4 bedrooms, heating/air conditioning, TV with DVD player (cable is not provided, so we do encourage our guests to bring games and movies) and a full-size deck with a BBQ with propane, fire pit and patio set.

Select cottages provide WiFi access (these cottages are labelled with a “WiFi” icon when booking online).

*bookings with more than 2 adults are subject to an “extra adult” fee.

Do the cottages have kitchens?

Yes. All Great Blue cottage rentals include fully equipped kitchens with a full-size fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and essential cooking items.

Do I need to bring bedding and towels?

If you have booked a vacation stay at any resort other than Golden Beach Resort, you will need to bring all bedding including sheets, pillows, pillow cases, comforters and blankets for the beds. All rental guests are required to bring towels for bathing and the beach/pool along with personal toiletries. Also, be sure to bring DVDs as our accommodations are not equipped with cable TV. Is WiFi available?

WiFi is available in select cottages and is identified during the online booking process.

How many guests can stay in a cottage?

Most rental cottages accommodate up to a family of 6 (up to 4 adults and 2 children), depending on the cottage model and location.

Resort Amenities & Activities

What is included in the resort fee?

The resort fee is a $30/night +HST charge that includes use of all of our amenities. Including the pool, splash pad, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, family events and so much more!

What resort amenities are available?

Amenities vary by resort but may include swimming pools, splash pads, private beaches, playgrounds, sports courts, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, recreation programs, and family-friendly activities.

Are there laundry facilities available?

Yes, all of our rental resorts offer coin operated on-site laundry facilities (washer and dryer) for you to use at your convenience during your stay with us.

Are fishing boats available for rent?

We have fishing boats available for rent at most of our properties. Be sure to inquire when you make your reservation. Our fishing boats are 12′ aluminum boats with a 9.9HP motor – life jackets are provided! You do not need a boating license, unless you are a guest at Golden Beach Resort (if fishing, a fishing license is required) however, we do require that you complete a boater’s safety checklist and keep it with you while you are on the boat – this will act as your license should you need it. Before you go out on the water, one of our helpful team members will give you a detailed overview of how to operate the boat.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes, you do require a fishing license to fish at our properties. Individuals under the age of 18, or over the age of 65 do not require a license. You may also decide to visit us during Ontario’s Family Fishing Week which is a license-free week or get a temporary license from Canadian Tire or Bass Pro Shop.

Pet-Friendly Cottage Rentals

Are pets allowed at Great Blue Resorts?

Pets are welcome at pet-friendly designated accommodations. For those guests bringing pets, there is a pet fee of $95+HST per reservation. There is a maximum of two pets per accommodation.

Please remember our accommodations are privately owned and we must respect the owner’s wishes regarding pets. You must notify us at the time of reservation if you are travelling with pets. If you arrive for check-in with a pet not included on your reservation you run the risk of being denied check-in without refund.

Dogs are always required to be on leash within the resort including on the trails, roads, etc. Guests are responsible for picking up and disposing of pet waste at all times. Dogs are allowed to swim in areas off shore but are not allowed on the beach.

How many pets can I bring?

There is a maximum of two pets per accommodation. Pets are welcome at pet-friendly designated accommodations. For those guests bringing pets, there is a pet fee of $95+HST per reservation.

Are there pet-friendly cottage rentals available?

Yes. Select cottage rentals throughout our Ontario resort locations are designated as pet-friendly accommodations.

Are there pet-focused amenities?

Yes. In addition to select pet-friendly cottage rentals, McCreary’s Beach Resort, Cherry Beach Resort, and Golden Beach Resort feature on-site dog parks where pets can enjoy off-leash exercise and play. These amenities help make Great Blue Resorts a great choice for pet-friendly cottage rentals in Ontario

What is the difference between a resort cottage rental and Airbnb?

A resort cottage rental combines private accommodations with access to shared amenities, recreational facilities, organized activities, beaches, pools, and on-site resort support. Traditional vacation rentals often do not include these amenities or services.
